Next month the startup will install the first 40 smart meters in two Buenos Aires neighborhoods. They stand out for automatically recording and sending all the information

President Mauricio Macri met with the founders of Deitres, the technology solutions company that leverages the Internet of Things and will install smart electronic meters in the City of Buenos Aires.

In mid-March, the startup will install the first 40 smart meters in homes built in the Buenos Aires neighborhoods of Barrio 31 and 31 Bis, as part of a government urbanization and energy-saving project.

The meeting took place at the Quinta de Olivos presidential residence, where the President received Bernardo Martínez and Ezequiel Manzini, the company's CEO and CTO, along with the Secretary of Planning and Policy in Science, Technology and Productive Integration, Jorge Aguado.

There, the entrepreneurs explained that the devices stand out because they directly record energy consumption data and will send the collected data to a computerized information center.

«In addition, the plan includes the development of a platform that encourages energy saving and lets users stay informed about their consumption. This way, they will be able to control their energy use through an app on their mobile phone and will have the option to buy prepaid cards to manage spending.», the Office of the President added.

Finally, the smart meters allow electricity providers to connect, disconnect and reconnect service remotely, without entering the neighborhood. They will also provide real-time information on power outages.
